This task will design cross-domain and cross-infrastructure EOSC participation training courses reusing and integrating existing training resources, and the resources that will be developed by WP9, INFRAEOSC-07 projects and other EOSC projects. The programmes will be built on learning paths and will contain one or more courses and will be aimed primarily at EOSC end-users (e.g. researchers), EOSC providers, trainers and data stewards. The goal of the programmes is to ensure that any EOSC end user or provider knows how to engage with and make use of EOSC and to upskill EOSC end-users and service providers to enable full participation in the EOSC. Relevant training materials that already exist will be re-used and new training materials will be created for any gaps in the EOSC training provision. Course modules and other learning materials within the programmes will be re-usable and can be applied across regions and multiple disciplines. The programmes will also include accreditation and specialisation opportunities, based on regional or domain specific needs. The course modules will focus on different target audiences and contain:
- For EOSC users: Training programme to discover and (re) use of EOSC data, services and software, contribute to EOSC with FAIR research outputs (software, services and data), present tools and best practices in the various areas (compute, data, etc.) and thematic clusters of EOSC.
- For Research infrastructures staff: Training programme and tools to connect and empower the experts from different topics and clusters and foster a common understanding and alignment of needs and solutions for EOSC across actors.
- For EOSC content providers and resources providers: The course materials will target different levels of maturity on how they can provide their resources to EOSC, accompanied by business and legal aspects and on how to set up training on the use of their resources.
- For policy makers: Learning resources on matching EOSC requirements, EOSC opportunities and benefits as well as for policy and business-related issues such as OS rewards and incentives.
- For trainers: EOSC Trainer Programme empowering a cohort of EOSC trainers with trainer bootcamps, training materials and tools for engaging with EOSC.
A multiplier train-the-trainers approach will be the main strategy to build and sustain training capacity across countries and disciplines. Trainers will be accredited by completing the EOSC trainer programme or via training experience evaluation and registration in the EOSC trainers’ directory. Thematic EOSC Trainer Bootcamps will be organised, bringing together trainers of various regions and infrastructures. These will be typical multiple day, blended learning events. The bootcamps will create a cohort of trainers with a high multiplier potential and equip them to deliver training on EOSC-related matters.
This activity will also deliver training, addressing the needs from users and providers engaged and supported in WP6 and WP10 and the INFRAEOSC-07 projects. The training delivery will include online training such as webinars and e-learning courses, as well as blended learning, seminars, and workshops. The delivery will have a regional focus, including the EU candidate countries, according to a well-defined roadmap, KPIs and selection criteria to maximise training impact.
