This page provides information upcoming workshops (plus past ones that have been highlighted) to be delivered and will be updated, so please be sure to check here regularly!

Please note that the trainings are split into the different four actor groups (colour coded and excluding the project internal group) that are described elsewhere and each of which will be delivering workshops tailored to that actor group. Moreover, each actor group will be delivering their workshops in modules that form the basis of a curriculum and which will be repeated once they reach thier end. We are also aiming to translate much of the resources used in these modules into e-learning for self-paced learning that will be accessible through the KH.

Trainers

August 2022ConsumersModule 3: Workflows and objective oriented how-tos
  1. Provide an overview of the research data curation lifecycle. This will become the focal point for all discussions. Tools and how-tos will be mapped to the different stages and will bring together the principles of good RDM wrt EOSC services/data. Tools and data for a variety of disciplines will be showcased which will provide a “quick start” guide.
Science projects will be used as the objective. Work being conducted in WP6 will be drawn in to provide practical examples of disciplinary and interdisciplinary workflows and which benefit from harnessing EOSC. See also ELIXIR as an example of how workflows could be demonstrated in a more practical sense.
  2. Data catalogues - learners will be shown the power of interdisciplinary searches which are increasingly important in several fields including the life and social sciences. Moreover, the ability to search datasets that have been pooled from multiple geographic locations adds to this power.
  3. Data quality and metadata -  tools to help annotate data and increase quality, domain-specific approach necessary.
  4. Collaborative environments - how to setup a workspace to allow data sharing and access during the research.
